Crime Fighters Assemble! The San Jose Giants have once again collaborated with Marvel for 2024 to take part in Minor League Baseball’s official Marvel’s Defender of the Diamond program. After a successful mission in 2023, this years installment of the ‘action-packed’ program will feature a new signature look for your San Jose Heroes. Gigante trained at the Avengers HQ this off-season so Marvel animators could work closely with him to design a new, one-of-a-kind uniform to be worn on-field in 2023.
This new on-field look will be worn multiple times throughout the 2024 season and those dates will be announced soon. You can also head to the San Jose Giants Dugout Store NOW to grab your super gear and suit up in time to Defend the Diamond!
Featuring San Jose’s ferocious mascot, Gigante, the Giants pay homage to their loveable gorilla with their Marvel inspired logo while creating an alternate, banana yielding, identity for nights they are tasked with Defending the Diamond!
In 2023, the San Jose Giants teamed up with Marvel once more for pair of action-packed nights at Excite Ballpark. The Giants wore custom designed uniforms that were auctioned off and autographed after the game, alongside other SUPER promotions that took place throughout the night.
As the Stockton Ports invaded Excite Ballpark, first off was Marvel's Defenders of the Diamond Night. Fortunately, San Jose fended off the Ports first attack with a 3-2 victory with a super smash from Andrew Kachel. Then, during Marvel's Super Hero Night, the Giants solidified their defense and forced the Stockton Ports out with another 3-2 victory on the back of a strong pitching performance.
