Yankees Currently Scheduling An MLB Rehab Assignment For RHP Lou Trivino With Somerset

Bridgewater, New Jersey – The New York Yankees have announced that RHP Lou Trivino is currently scheduled to commence an MLB rehab assignment with the Double-A Somerset Patriots on Wednesday, August 14. The Patriots are on the road in Hartford and will play the Yard Goats on Wednesday evening at 7:10 pm.

The Yankees placed Trivino on the 60-day injured list on 2/16/24 to recover from Tommy John Surgery.

Originally selected by the Oakland Athletics in the 11^th round of the 2013 MLB Draft, the Yankees acquired Trivino, along with RHP Frankie Montas, in a trade with Oakland for LHP Ken Waldichuk, LHP JP Sears, RHP Luis Medina and 2B Cooper Bowman on 8/1/22. After electing free agency on 11/17/23, the Yankees signed Trivino as a free agent on 2/14/24.

Trivino last pitched in 2022 for the Yankees and finished 1-2 with a 1.66 ERA and 22 strikeouts over 21.2 IP in 25 games.

He has an MLB career 21-25 record, a 3.86 ERA and 299 strikeouts in 284.2 IP in 285 games between Oakland (2018-2022) and New York (2022-Current).

He will become the ninth player to rehab with Somerset this season and the 34^th overall since the team became the Yankees Double-A affiliate in 2021.
